Objectives and Goals: Objective: Students will be able to identify at least three safety rules that apply to social networking and electronic communication.
Introduction (5 minutes): Explain to students that technology classes this year will focus on digital citizenship. Tell students that digital citizenship means using technology appropriately.
Direct Instruction (approximate time): Show students the online infinite learning lab video on online safety.
Guided Practice (5 minutes): Students will answer (as a class) questions regarding online safety on infinite learning lab.
Closure (2 minutes): Explain that part of being a good digital citizen is keeping your personal information safe online.
Independent Practice: Students will use their iPads to create a video reflection of the lesson identifying at least three online safety (rules or yappys.)
Assessment and Follow-Up: Observe students as they answer question regarding online safety checking for understanding. Observe student as they create reflection videos checking for understanding.
